The Governors seek to appoint a Student Services Officer to assist the Student Performance Leader in supporting young people and their families in communicating with school. The postholder will be expected to work as part of a team to provide a friendly, efficient and accessible service for the benefit of students, staff, parents and visitors; with a particular focus on work related to pastoral support.

School Closure

BCHS and WSMS will be closed on Friday 8th January due to snow and poor road conditions.

School should be open on Monday for all year groups, unless otherwise stated. Year 12 and 13 exams should still take place and students should use this additional time to revise.

The Global Enterprise Market is in ful swing at Bedlington High School!

]]> As part of the Make your Mark Challenge, students have been give £5 loans from two local companies and are selling their goods in the global enterprise market.

Students are selling a vast range of items:

cakes, stationary, christmas cards, christmas decorations, local area prints, hot dogs, nail painting, personalised bags and items and much much more!

At the end of the first 30 minutes, the teams had made over £230!

Bedlington Students prepare Christmas Cheer for Romanian Students

Students across Bedlington High School have a spent Global Enterprise Week preparing Christmas parcels for children in a school in Romanian.

]]> The students started by raising £1.50 each so they could buy essential stationary for students in the village of Garcin. Students in the village are part of the biggest Roma community in country and often 10 to each house.

The students used their enterprising talents to set up a link with the school and establish that the pupils there really need stationary.

"It's a quick and easy way to get help out there." Mrs Stephanie Pritchard, project leader told us. "Our students set up a little production line and started putting pens, rulers and other items that they had purchased into stationary boxes, ready to be shipped out in time for Christmas."

Bedlington Students Gear up for Enterprise Week

Students at Bedlington High School and West Sleekburn Middle School are getting ready for this years Global Enterprise Week!

]]> Staff and students will be working together this week on making and selling items as students across the school set up their own businesses.

Activities include the make £5 grow challenge, chocolate tombollas, an enterprise market in the school hall and an auction of an electric guitar made by students.

Year 11 students to support UK troops in Afghanistan

S.O.S. Year 11 xl students want to help the troops in Afghanistan.

]]> They are doing 'Support Our Soldiers' project and are asking staff and students to donate shoe boxes and goodies which will be sent out to the troops. Items to donate are: Small pieces of Christmas cake, crisps, nuts, sweets, mints, lollies, tea, coffee, sugar, travel sizeed toiletries such as shower gel, toothpaste and shampoo. We also need mens shoe boxes sizes 7,8 and 9. Items must be handed in before Wednesday 25th November.
