Bedlington High School has been nominated for a prestigious award by Northumberland Council. The school has been nominated for an enterprising schools award by the Wansbeck Enterprise Education Network.
Sarah Legge from the WEEN congratulated Bedlington High on their nomination, "Your students and staff have really taken the enterprise initiative on board and this nomination shows your commitment as a school to developing a 'can-do' attitude among your students, staff and local community."
Principal at BCHS, Kieran McGrane was delighted with the news; he told us "Our students and staff have been involved in a wide range of enterprising activities which have resulted in them learning a lot about the skills needed to be an entrepreneur. We've certainly got a few 'Alan Sugar's' in the making!"
The news coincided with the announcement that BCHS had been asked by the Department for Children, Schools and Families to take part in an evaluation of enterprise education across England.
