Hundreds of students at Bedlington High School were celebrating today after getting their GCSE exam results. The school reached its tough target with 54% of students gaining 5 GCSE grades A*-C and 100% of students walking away with at least one GCSE.
School Principal, Kieran McGrane was delighted with the performance of his students. "We've got so many talented young people here at Bedlington; it's great to see them being successful". The school's achievement puts them in the top 25% of similar schools across the country.
Last week, A-level students from the school were celebrating their success too. "We had one of our best years for A-Level results and a record number of our students will be starting a University or Higher Education course in September." Mr McGrane told us. The school saw 96% of its A-level students gaining a pass and an impressive 31% gaining grades A to B.
