Urban Art Hits Bedlington

Ever wondered what it would be like to be a Banksy? Well, a group of year 10 students from Bedlington High School have been working with an artist in residence on a urban art project to find out just that. You can view some of their work here, there will be more opportunities for BCHS students to take part in urban art projects this year.

They spent three days looking at the techniques need to produce graffiti - or urban art. Art teacher, Kristian Grundy told us about the project. "We've been looking at different ways of engaging students through modern art. There is a fine line between urban art and graffiti and these students have explored that. It's been great having an urban artist in to work with the students."

The students work will be on display around the school.

good to see students engaged, is their art politiical with a political or underlining meaning? ( like banksy) or is it just like pop art.
