Bedlington Grammar School 1926 - 1974

As most of you will already know, BCHS was once a Grammar School. The school's motto, Semper Sursum, which means 'Always Rising', hails from then and is the name of a website set up by a former pupil.

The website gives a nostalgic reminder of the school, the teachers and the pupils of yesteryear - there are some excellent photos there for anyone interested in the history of the school. www.sempersursum.co.uk

Hello I left the Grammar Schooll in 1961 from the Upper Sixth form. I have been into the Semper Sursum siite and then wandered into this site. I guess things have changed dramatically from my days at Bedlington , but I just want to say what a great school it was then , and I hope it still is. Good luck to you all , staff and pupils alike.

What a most enjoyable experience to see all of my school friends and members of staff once again.I left the grammar school in 1950.
I have revisited it as a High School where my grand daughter was a student before leaving for University in the summer.
