Students learn lifesaving skills.

first aid day

Year 9 students have recently spent a day learning about life saving skills as part of a short first aid course studied at Bedlington High School. The students learned about the recovery position, how to go through a basic check of vital signs and how to check a casualty for other injuries.

Year 9 student, Emma Barnfather really enjoyed the day. "I'd never done anything like this before." She said. "I feel that I've learned some important life skills, things that go beyond just lessons or classroom."

The session was lead by air cadets from 346 (Tynemouth) Squadron, who all hold first aid qualifications.
