The principal, staff and governors welcome our students back to school.Year 7,8,9 and 12 students are in school on Wednesday 8th September and all year groups are in from Thursday 9th September.

School Chess Championships 2008

Sean Brand (Year 10) is this year's School Chess Champion. He won 6 and drew 1 game to come top of the 12 players in the competition, qualifying for the regional finals of the British Land UK Chess Challenge, where he scored 50% against strong opposition.
Second place was taken by newcomer and Year 7! Anthony Barratt and 3rd was John Blaney (Year 10). 4th = & Top Girl was Jody Perry of Year 9, 4th= was Chris Ward, also in Year 7 (one of England's top Grandmasters is also called Chris Ward, so we shall tell him to watch out for his namesake in the future!) The others in the competition were all excellent sports' Well done to: Ryan Crosby, James Crooks, Lee Jones, Andrew Storey and Chris Lynn. Chess Club is on Wednesday Lunchtimes in YB1, new members welcome. Ms. L. Barnes
